New Race Cars Cooled by Adrad

The S5000 series is Australia’s new premier single-seater, open-wheel race category. The cars feature a carbon-fibre composite chassis and body and are fitted with cockpit halos that resemble those used in Formula One.

Gary Rogers Motorsport has built 13 identical Formula S5000 race cars, using common components to make them equal mechanically. Any gains in performance are a result of adjustments to the car set-up and the driver’s ability.

The series racing debut was held at Sandown Park on Sept 22.

The 5 litre engines are based on a Coyote quad-cam V8, limited to 8,000rpm and delivering 560bhp (412kW) and 450 ft-lbs (610Nm).

Gearbox is a Six-Speed sequential unit by Holinger, pneumatically operated by paddle shifters.

Every vehicle is fitted with a pair of radiators (one located in each side pod) and also a gearbox oil cooler.

Each core is manufactured by Adrad using the Performance Alloy XF fin configuration.

Tanks are added by the team at GRM.

Adrad has supplied cooling to V8 Supercar teams in the past and have had our share of winners and podiums. As Australia's largest radiator manufacturer, Adrad is looking forward to participating in this latest race category and other exciting performance cooling projects in the future.
